Try This, mmmmm K?

Here's a listening exercise. Close your eyes and press play. Listen to Natalie Dessay (a famous, respected soprano) singing 'Quia respexit' by Bach. You don't have to listen to the whole thing, just a minute or so. Think of 3 or 4 adjectives that describe what you hear. Now "rewind" it and watch this time. Think of 3 or 4 adjectives to describe this experience. Are they generally the same words? Or wildly different?

PS I should have said that the solo is a ways into the vid. Sorry if you had your eyes closed for a half century.

So today I was walking back to my office, past the orchestra rehearsal room where they were rehearsing "La fille de regiment" with Natalie Dessay...and I decided to take a look inside, and she was doing the SAME THING as on the video! Moving her arms all around and stuff. It was funny seeing that after seeing your video. I guess she still has it in her! xoxo Jessica
